Largue Pharmacy -
Largue Pharmacy is able to offer a large range of services available on the NHS and also privately. If you want a quiet word with the pharmacist or any of our trained staff, there is a private room available on request.
Prescriptions
We can dispense both NHS and Private prescriptions, while you wait.
We are also able to answer any questions that you may have about the medication that
you have been prescribed. We may also be able to provide help to people who have
difficulty taking their prescribed medication.
Prescription Collection
We can collect your prescription from Huntly Health Centre,
to save you time. You can request this service from the Health Centre at the time
of ordering your prescription. You can also leave your repeat prescription request
in the pharmacy and we will take it to the Health Centre for you. We will then collect
the prescription and have it ready for you to pick up, approximately two days later,
(excluding weekends when the Health Centre is closed).
Prescription Delivery
If you are unable to collect your prescription we can deliver
it for you. Please ask any member of staff about this service.
Ostomy and Incontinence Appliances/Products.
We can supply a large range of ostomy
and incontinence bags and appliances. We are normally able to source these within
two days of receiving your prescription. We are also able to cut ostomy bags to template
if required. Please ask to speak to the pharmacist about this service.
Smoking Cessation
We can offer advice and help to you on giving up smoking. We are
able to help you choose the most suitable Nicotine Replacement Product (NRT) for
your needs. We are able to provide the NRT on the NHS, normally with no appointment
necessary. Please ask for details.
Minor Ailments
We can offer advice and products to treat many minor ailments, over
the counter e.g. head lice, coughs, colds, aches and pains and many others. In certain
circumstances we can now provide products on the NHS, so you don’t have to go wait
for a doctor’s appointment. We will check that products supplied are suitable for
you and will not interact with any other medication that you are taking. We may need
to ask you a few questions about the condition and patient. If you want more information
please ask any member of staff.
Sexual Health Service
We can supply Emergency Hormonal Contraception on the NHS if
required, this service is confidential and carried out in our private consultation
room. We also supply condoms free of charge. We are now able to hand out Chlamydia
tests and treat a Chlamydia infection if clinically appropriate on the NHS. Please
ask the pharmacist for more details.
Support Hosiery and Trusses
We can order a large range of Surgical Stockings and Trusses
suitable for your requirements. If you have not had these products before we can
take measurements to ensure that you get the correct size of product. We can also
give advice on how to use these surgical products correctly.
First Aid Equipment
We have a large range of first aid supplies in stock. First aid
kits can be made to individual requirements, whether they are for personal, business
or sports use. Please ask for details and prices.
Disability Aids
We can order a large range of aids to help make life a little bit
easier. We have a catalogue that has a large range of products including wheelchairs,
walking frames, commodes, bed rails, cutlery and many more. Please ask any member
of staff for more details.
Blood Pressure Monitoring
We can measure your blood pressure in the shop, no appointment
is necessary. Please ask for details.
Medical Equipment
We can supply a large range of medical equipment including blood
pressure monitors, blood glucose monitors, nebulisers, TENS machines and thermometers. Please
ask for details and prices.
Gluten Free Foods
We can order most of the different varieties of Gluten Free Foods
that are available. We are also able to advise which ones are available on NHS prescription. Please
ask a member of staff for more details.
Emergency Supplies
If you have left home with out your medication or have forgotten
to order it we may be able to provide you with some of you medication until you can
get a new prescription or supply. There may be a charge for this service.
Care Homes
We can provide dispensing services to both residential and nursing home.
Please contact the pharmacist for further information.
We are able to give you advice on what vaccines and malaria tablets you may require when you travel abroad. We can supply anti malaria medication without the need of a prescription, please ask the pharmacist for more details. We can also advise you on what you should pack when going on holiday to cover or prevent any illness that may arise.
We are also part of the NHS Grampian Palliative Care Network.
